Situated on the North Kent coast, Margate is only a 90 minute drive or train journey from central London. Canterbury is only a half hour drive, or 45 minute bus journey away.

Travelling by rail:

 

The new High Speed 1 train service, can whisk you from London St Pancras and Stratford International to Margate in a mere 80 minutes. There are also frequent trains between London Victoria and London Charing Cross and Margate. Journey times are approximately 1 hour 50 minutes (Victoria) and 2 hours (Charing Cross).

 

The Turner Contemporary is just over half a mile along the seafront from Margate train station and close to all main bus routes in the town. It is just a short walk from Margate town centre and the Old Town.

 

For those staying overnight with our special conference rate at the Sands Hotel, the hotel is no more than a 10 minute walk from Margate Railway Station.
